#PHOTOX FOR BACKLIT LIGHT BOX PORTABLE#
The Finnhomy Professional Portable Photo Studio, however, is a little larger than most budget boxes – and while it’s not perfect for larger products like shoes, it is a good value option at this price point. That’s because they’re usually too small to shoot anything other than jewelry or watches. Inexpensive light tents don’t always make the best light boxes for product shooting. Finnhomy Professional Portable Photo Studio It offers a complete small-to-medium product studio and is worth the price for professional-looking product photos. The Foldio3 makes shooting products and food so much quicker and simpler, especially with the smart turntable for 360-degree photography and the extra halo light bars. The side panels are detachable, too, so you can easily show hands holding objects without the holder having to contort their arms uncomfortably. You have a decent amount of room, and it’s tall enough to house bottles of wine. This can be a welcome factor when you have a lot of product photography to get through. All you do is place the sides of the box close to each other and they snap into place immediately!Īll these little things add up to massive time-saving benefits. The Foldio3 can be put up and taken down in around 20 seconds, and it’s made from durable, opaque white plastic. The halo light strips are magnetic, which means you can quickly place them anywhere in the light box you need the extra light. You may not need them, though, as the main lights offer strong, daylight-balanced illumination all on their own. The halo LED light bars are an addition to the main Foldio3 LED lighting system, so you can add or remove them as you see fit. All you have to do is control the turntable with the smartphone app. Heck, I like it so much I’ll probably order more! They are seriously cool. The ORANGEMONKIE Foldio3 is expensive, but it does come with a 360-degree smart turntable that makes shooting a product from all angles much easier and quicker. (There’ s a lot more information on how it’s all put together over on their website here.)ĭisclosure: I got the print for free, but had no obligation or agreement to post here or say nice things about it. It’s lit with LED lights inside the box so the light source is evenly spread in the box.

The print comes with a power cord, so you can either hang it on the wall and hide the cord, or set it on a desk or book-shelf (like I did) with the cord in the background … kinda like you would with a lamp. The photo I had made was of the inside of a hot-air balloon, which was back-lit and you can even se e a small shadow in the print where someone was standing behind the balloon. These boxes work with all images, but images with a light source within the frame (like lightening, back-lighting, etc.) seem to really add to the effect. I gotta say, if I had little kids I would definitely be printing something to put in their rooms and leave it on all the time. The front of the print is a matte finish, and very sturdy (not just a paper print), and it’s surrounded by a black box that holds all of the LED lights, and it also makes it easy to stand it up on a surface instead of hanging on the wall. I have my print sitting behind me in my office … it adds a nice “night-light” effect to the room and the light makes the image pop like crazy. To imagine what it would look like (since it’s not always easy to tell from a photograph) picture a computer-screen hanging on your wall displaying your photo with a nice black box surrounding it … that’s what it’s like.

A few weeks ago I picked up a print I had made from BackLit Box.
